Abby & Luke | Rainy Romance | Fort Atkinson Club

Abby & Luke's wedding was our last one for the season and we were so excited to see them again. We had so much fun with them during their engagement session. When they told us that their wedding would be held at the Fort Atkinson Club we knew it was going to be an awesome venue. Set along the river, the charm of old hardwood floors, spacious rooms to explore on three levels and a bowling alley in the basement provided fun for everyone young and old. We have been dodging the rain all season long and it finally caught up to us this time. It was a little wet and actually flooded along the river but boy did it make for some beautiful photos! As we arrived at the Fort Atkinson Club, we saw that Luke was already there setting up and working hard to make sure that every detail was perfect for Abby. He is such a sweet and loving guy. Table cloths and silverware were set out, lights were hung and decorations put in place as well as wine. Plenty of wine. Luke's dad made all of the wine that was served that day and they even made labels with photos from their engagement session. Super cute!

Abby looked absolutely gorgeous all glammed up when she arrived with her girls ready to put on her wedding dress. Luke looked pretty amazing in his outfit as well. Chee La loved it and enjoyed taking photos of all his details. Before the ceremony they cleared out the bottom level and it was just Luke by himself patiently waiting to see his beautiful bride for the first time. After working so hard the entire morning, he was able to rest for a bit and take it all in. After seeing Luke, Abby's glowing smile shown even brighter for the rest of the day. It was definitely an emotional and teary first look.

The ceremony followed shortly after and it was just as emotional, filled with laughs and giggles and some more tears. After the ceremony the bridal party hung back to take photos and halfway through we saw that the rain had finally let up so we took them outside for the rest of the photos! We just love being outside and take every chance we get to shoot outdoors.

We got them back in right before the grand march and dinner. Speeches followed after in the lower level but not before we took them back outside for some amazing night shots. We've been wanting to do some backlit rain shots for some time now and were finally able to as it started to drizzle once again. I guess you could say we saved this shot for a rainy day. :) It was so cool to be able to freeze the rain drops in the background as the light glowed around them. Once we finished with photos it was off to party the night away. The dance floor was a blast. Everyone was up and dancing and the song choices were a perfect blend of music for all ages. Polished Entertainment did such an amazing job. Amy, the DJ, was so warm and welcoming and checked in with us all night long making sure everything was on schedule. And why not too, when the bride is your friend! We found that out shortly after meeting her in the morning and she went above and beyond to provide audio and entertainment to all three levels of the building. It was so much fun that we didn't want to leave.

Abby & Luke, thank you so much choosing us to capture your wedding day. We couldn't have ask for a better way to end our 2019 wedding season. Good luck with all your future endeavors together!
